Clientelism

CLIENTEL ISM
     Politically, clientelism is the exchange of goods and services for electoral support. The patron-client relationship or clientelism is based on the principle of trade by barter. It goes like this: if you will vote for me, I will provide social services for you. It is a strategic tool used by political parties or politicians to convince voters. (See Treating).
